After leaving school with 6 O levels, Terry’s first introduction to the industry was at a Foundry & Forge company in Rotherham.  After a short stint at British Steel, he was fortunate enough to be offered a position as a Sales Assistant at Willan Metals where he stayed for 16 years learning as much as possible about Vacuum Melting. In 1993, Terry joined Ross & Catherall where he travelled around the world selling Vacuum Superalloys. The amazing and valuable experience he gained, gave him the inspiration to set up Select Alloys & Materials Ltd.

With dedication, hard work and long hours, the dream was finally becoming a reality, and now Select Alloys is recognised as being one of the world's leading suppliers in Vacuum grade scraps and raw materials.

Simon joined Select Alloys in 2015 after previously working at Firth Rixson Metals for over 10 years. Simon is Six Sigma trained by Rolls Royce and now uses this methodology to maximise benefits for both the customers and the business. His previous knowledge and experience as a Business Development and Purchasing Manager in the Aerospace and Oil & Gas industry is second to none. Simon has the same ethos when it comes to dedication, hard work and long hours which keeps the dream alive.

Beth joined the family business in July 2013 and has a valued interest in Business Management and Economics, Beth is involved in all aspects of the business. From stock control, payroll, cash flow and hedging, completing by a course with the LME, Beth is perfectly placed as the Finance Director.

Liz, originally from California, is a commercial and business development leader with extensive experience across the metals industry, supporting aerospace, IGT, oil & gas, automotive, medical, and space sectors.

Liz brings 19 years of manufacturing experience spanning seamless rolled rings, bespoke forgings, and superalloy manufacture, specialising in Ni, Co, and Hf grades.

Her interests are walking, running, e-cycling, cooking, and karaoke. 

Rachel joined the company in May 2023 and the newest addition to the management team. Rachel has been in the metals industry since 2007 in Customer Service, Account Management and Operations and brings a wealth of experience in all areas, also worked closely with Simon in previous years and have reformed the dynamics of a great working relationship. Rachel is currently working on improving all Select Alloys IT platforms to streamline and increase efficiencies.

Luke joined the company in November 2023, having previously worked for Ireland Alloys as a trader of revert alloys for almost 8 years.  He started his career in the metals industry with ELG Metals, recycling stainless steel material and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge.  Luke recently completed level 3 at the Institute of leadership and management and will put these skills into practice.  We are all thrilled to have him on board.

Gemma joined us in March 2025 as our new Office & Transport Co-Ordinator, a valued member of the team to strengthen our customer service department. Ensuring all our deliveries/shipments are tracked and OTIF reported.

Gemma’s background is predominantly in transport, so her experience and knowledge she brings to the team is vital. 

Gemma is an avid Wednesday supporter which can often bring friendly rivalry within the team.

Taylor is our newest addition to the team and joined us in January 2026 as Operations Officer. Entering the Metallurgical Industry in 2017 as an apprentice at Westbrook Resources before moving to the Titanium division in 2018, where he spent 8 years. During this time gained a wealth of knowledge in Titanium which helped progression into the focal analyser & lead production planner for FeTi.  He brings a wealth of experience to the team.
